Australian Institute of Homoeopathy, Inc.
The
Australian Institute of Homoeopathy was established in 1946 to promote
interest in Homoeopathy and was incorporated under the Companies Act in
1947 with specific objectives to teach and regulate the practice of
homoeopathy.
Today,
with a large membership Australia wide, the Institute conducts regular
meetings for members at which experienced practitioners lecture and
discuss both the traditional and modern approaches to the practice of
Homoeopathy.
With
the growth of many excellent homoeopathic Colleges, the Institute now
concentrates on advanced levels of education through postgraduate
seminars, case studies and research. At the same time the Institute
promotes the understanding of homoeopathic principles through regular
Introductory courses for members of the public.
The
Institute was a foundation member of the Australian Traditional Medicine
Society Ltd. and its Diploma of Homoeopathy has long been recognised for
professional membership of the Australian Homoeopathic Association and the
Australian Traditional Medicine Society Ltd.
Through
its membership of ATMS, the Institute was responsible for representing the
views of all homoeopaths in negotiations with the Federal government,
which led to the exemption of homoeopaths from the provisions of the
Therapeutic Goods Act, and is still involved in the development of
standards acceptable to governments for the self regulation of the
profession.
