What is the CORPORATE SEATED MASSAGE?
This is basically a method of muscle manipulation, pressure point relaxation therapy and energy
balancing applied to specific points throughout the body. Special attention
is focused on high stress areas including the scalp, ears, neck, shoulders,
and back.
Where will my massage session take place? Your massage session will take
place in a quiet room. Soft music will be played for relaxation. You will
sit on a chair that has been specially designed for your comfort.
Who will perform the massage? Your 20-minute session will be conducted by
a massage professional who has received proper training. All massage
practitioners are certified and insured.
Must I be undressed? Most massage & bodywork are traditionally
performed with the client unclothed; however in the corporate setting the
massage recipient is always fully clothed. You may decide to unbutton you
collar, roll up your sleeves, and remove your jewellery in order to have the
arms and hands massaged with greater ease.
What parts of my body will be massaged? A typical chair massage session
will include work on your head, neck, shoulders, and back.
Will oils or lotions be used? A light oil or lotion may be used only on
your arms and hands. The oils & lotions used should hydrate the skin and
be readily absorbed. Special Aromatherapy oils can also be used for specific
reasons.
What will the massage feel like? It depends on the techniques used. In
general, your session may start with concentration on deeper breathing and
gentler massage strokes to help calm your nervous system and relax exterior
muscle tension. As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be
increased to relax specific areas and relieve muscular tension.
How long will the session last? The average session lasts 20-minutes.
Many people may request more time for deeper work when they are feeling
discomfort due to overused muscles, migraine headaches, or stress related
injuries.
What should I do during the massage? Make yourself comfortable. Many
people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk
during their massage session. Feel free to ask the massage therapists
questions about the massage in general or about any particular technique you
are receiving.
How will I feel after the massage? Most people feel very relaxed. Some
experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or
repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people
often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater
productivity which can last for days.
What are the benefits of massage & upper bodywork? Massage or upper
bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve
circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue
and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve
posture, reduce blood pressure, and counter balance travel fatigue.
Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or upper
bodywork inadvisable? Before you begin your session, the massage therapist
will ask you a few general questions. It is very important that you inform
the practitioner of any health problems. If you are under a doctors care it
is advisable that you receive a written recommendation for massage.
