The main features of Fitball training
- The Fitball can be used for all ages and fitness levels
It improves endurance, strength and mobility
- It provides exercises for better posture, balance, body
awareness and coordination
- It can be used for group and individual exercise at the
club or at home
- It promotes functional movement for everyday life
|
 |
|
Lessons with the FitBall
Lessons should be prepared and executed as all other workouts
and divided into warm-up, exercises for strength and mobility,
a cardiovascular part (low impact) and cool-down with
stretching. It goes without saying that you can also develop
programs without a cardiovascular part, for instance
relaxation lessons, gymnastics for back and posture,
coordination for balance-orientated sports or pelvis bottom
exercises. |
|
However,
because exercises on and with the ball are more challenging
with regard to motor reflexes and balance, it is strongly
recommended to choose simple exercises especially for elderly
and/or people of a low fitness level. After working on these
basics, the level of difficulty can slowly be increased.
The choice of music very much depends on personal taste and
the participants. Note that the tempo should be slower than in
aerobic lessons, otherwise the music rhythm will not
correspond with the bouncing. A tempo of about 105 bpm
(warm-up, workout) up to 120 bpm (for cardiovascular
exercises) is appropriate. |
